Loan Periods, Fees & Fines

Loan periods and renewal limits are determined based on the type of material.  Extension of standard loan periods and renewal limits can be arranged on an ad hoc basis depending on circumstances.

Borrowers are responsible for returning library material on time and in good condition.  Penalties will be applied to borrower accounts for late return of library materials.  Late fees accumulate on a daily schedule to a maximum amount at which time the item is considered lost and the borrower is charged a fine for replacement cost.

Message from the Drayton Valley Branch of the Albert Genealogical Society:

The Drayton Valley Branch of the Alberta Genealogical Society is excited and appreciative of our collaboration with the Drayton Valley Municipal Library, and look forward to accessing FamilySearch records through the Affiliated Library.  Our general meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. with the exception of July, August, and December.  Our resources include genealogy books which are included in the section on genealogy and filed amongst the Library's genealogical resources.  We also have obituaries for Drayton Valley and the surrounding area from 2004 onward and an index on Drayton Valley's births, deaths, and marriages from 1954 - 2004.   Genealogy for Youth resources is included in our holdings which we hope to implement into our programming.  Members are willing to assist anyone wanting help searching their own family tree.  Some of these searches have assisted us in learning more about our area.
